lion dance
Friday, January 25, 2008 ; 11:11 PM

Chinese New Year is coming round the corner.
And I'll foresee all those ferocious lions will be out of the zoo to dance.
Well that's the only time where lions can have some recreation and stretch those muscles of theirs.And what makes it more better with the percussion team hitting and clanging those drums and cymbals.

I look forward for festive seasons(probably due to the holidays that I have been entitled to) and always seeks out things or activities to be done.And hey i want celebrate Chinese New Year!!Can I?My grandma has plans up for me though.By the way, I still have addiction to oranges(eversince the year started) and my aunt has been buying loads of it as a bait to get me go to her house.Okay that's beside the point.

Do you know?
That i have a phobia of those lions?As in the lion dance that you will usually see during Chinese New Year?
It may be stupid.But it is a phobia I had and brought it up with me since childhood days.I can still picture the place and scenario that got me freaked out.It was at Ubi in front of the coffeeshop.

I know its ridiculous cause the lions aren't real to begin with and they don't bite.And I get more scared of it when the sounds of the drums and cymbals start to accompany the lion to dance.So usually i will avoid those lion dancers.However i am fascinated by it and do watch the lion dance from my corridor's view(or should i say bird's eye view).i loved the part where they peel the oranges and form words or numbers with it.Pretty interesting.

And so i will just do the same this year.And yes I am 18years old girl who is afraid of lion dance!

Staring blankly ahead;
Just making my way through the crowd
