my first attachment in SGH...
it was quite a depressing one..
my ward is specialized in haematology(simply means blood disorders)
and the patients there suffers from leukaemia..
yea alot of abbreviations i duno at first lar!!!
when taking report tym,the nurses were saying lyk choo choo train...
eh no!!!dats quite slow...they were talkin lyk a sports car speeding lar!!
wat AML,MRB,ALL..wat shit lar..
luckily haikel was there..
It was a GREAT TING DAT haikel was there lor!!
since he has been there fer a week...n he was the only one there to explain us everything..


it was so great to be assigned to female cubicle...
my cubicle was quite depressing lar..
the patients were as young as 17year old girl..
i was pretty depressed..and was reaaly quiet cuz i scared to offend them in any ways
it was quite tough to nurse the young patients cuz u feel for them..
and actually attachment make me be more sensitive to them..
it really hurts to see all this thing...
my work in SGH was quite relaxing
taking parameters(BP,temp,pain assessment,pulse n respiration)
serving commodes,occasionally serving urinals to male pts at the other rooms(sound like serving food to them..but uh-uh..its not..its sumthin that we give them to pass urine..since we need to measure the urine and colour..yea we did dat..)
apparently theres one PErvertic old man lar!!!
Urgh!!!so disgusted with him..dat rich old pervertic man...
cant type down wat he did here..but yea..its a whole load of shit..


anyway..sumthings that i get to do is i/v dressing,hypocount...OMG i cant rmb...
and occasionally we get to see "movies"..such as BMA-bone marrow aspiration...
real life BMA and closed up...
the first one dat i watched got me feeling so dizzy..n i felt like fainting lar...!!
i dun tink its cuz i was afraid but its cuz thers alot of student nurses watchin it..and it was so stuffy...
and i got special treatment from the lecturer..she made me milo..lol!!
haha..
we oso watch LP or aka IT..layman term is lumbar puncture..
wher they poke a needle into ur vertebra...
BMA is more scary lar...cuz u see them poking a thick needle..
God noes how BIG the needle is and its poke right into the bone marrow..(hope u all noe whers the bone marrow..ahakz)
and from ther they extract the blood..and at the end of it they extract part of the bone marrow...
yea its a bone..


anyway attachment will be great if u have a great attachie partner..
but for me..i got one which follow by the book...(mann,im so bad sia...)
but anyway,this gurl is so funny lar...
Once she took BP for 15mins yea..
the patient is on packed cell transfusion(PCT)
therefore we had to take 15 mins-15mins-30mins-45mins followed by hourly parameters..
she took bp..with the estimated systolic..den followed by the whole procedure..
it took lyk 15mins for her to take a pts BP..
and wen she turn to us.(we were behind her observing..)
we thot she was done..but..guess wat she said??
"I cannot hear the Bp..can i try again??"
we cudnt help but ended up chuckling away lar..
so she did it again..WITh the estimated tingy...
and it was 15mins already wen she's done lar..
and it was tym to take another parameters..cuz of the time..
the nurse started laughin away and told her to wait another 15mins to take para..


Its juz funny to work with her..
she always tells me wat she wan to do,wat the patients want..and wateva lar..
she reports to me every single ting..i dunno y..but i dun find the need to lar..
got one tym she gave a patient a commode without the container..
and she still didnt get it went i open up the lid to show her..the staff nurse started laughin..


last thurs,did bed bathing for male pt..
HELL yea..i did it memii!!!
twice..
but it was okie since the pt was really sincerely sick..i didnt bed bath dat pervertic old man..
once i handled shit..
damn...it was horrible make me wanna puke..
Its watery..yellowish and thers undigested vegetable lar!!and the smell stink l yk hell..


but overall a fun and eye opening experience..

Okiez been such a long tym since i blog..

last saturdae had a stagearts chalet..
but i went fer the roadshows of singapore idol before goin fer the chalet..
haha...
den went wit rab 2..
while waiting fer her...saw ash...and sum other drama jrs..which i dun r ealli noe ..

since im lyk rushing out dis posts let me juz summarize wat happen yar...

-reached at around 6plus..
-dancers haben reach except me n rab 2..
-eat,chat....eat...
-talkin abt ghost stories
-telling jokes(damn..i hate jokes..i will sure be slow enough to catch the joke lor..)
-send rab2 home..(so obviously i was alone..but got other dancers..haha)
-some had booze....so me and zul were like okie...we r frens..
-ash face turns red
-play heart attack
-went out with dancers and roam aorund..
-got into trouble..but not realli our fault..(damn dta security guards)
-went back to chalet...one by one slept at around4 plus??...im the 2nd one to sleep..
-Meixian went out wit zul n nisa..
-conquered the whole stretch of bed..
-woke up three times cuz yee shan snoring...(it was a light sleep dats y i can wake up so easy one..haha..)
-sherry woke up wenever i woke up..haha
-zee i tink she got nytmare or sth??she was saying she got hear some insect flying..ahakz..
-next day went pool...
-go escape with ash and mei xian..

gosh felt bad to make ash took sum thrilling rides cuz afta dat he felt so sickly..
lol..
first tym i took ten rides in an hour..
and the least number of rides i eva take on dat day..lol
had great hell of fun...at tyms..wakaka

okie lemme start my post by saying about teachers day celebration..
it falls on thursday and apparently i had dance that evening..
had a rocking tym back in skul...thanx siqin for wanting to accompany me to skul
though its juz a stone's throw away from my home..

so yea..i lurved teachers day but apparently we came there empty handed..so i decided not to meet up my teachers yet..
the objective of me goin back was to watch school concerts!!
i missed watchin school concerts lar!!
the teachers were dancing....and everything..
could not see much since i came late..

Lol!!Then i saw Fatin..my core geog partner...
got a hug from her...the ever so happy gerl...
had a lil chat wit her..miss her soo much mann...

Then saw my beloved Jrs....
Got a hug from them too!!feel so loved mann..
cant rmb who else i hug cuz there was alot of hugs given here and there..

saw Chua ong-my dm..
haha...tok with her fer awhile...
